About me
For over thirty years, I've worked in database architecture and development, application design, technical team leadership, documentation and testing management, and related work. I currently have some limited capacity to take on new projects on a contract basis.
I've worked for every size of organization, from one-person operations to Fortune 500s, universities, and the Federal Reserve. I'm familiar with security standards and security-friendly practices as well as improving productivity with AI tools, though I always treat AI-generated material with caution. I have substantial experience in the finance, healthcare, and retail sectors, among others, and I have strong HIPAA compliance and PHI/PII protection experience.
I'm particularly good at getting the big picture from technical details, setting up effective processes, devising reliable structures and algorithms, and communicating about technical topics with both technical and non-technical personnel.
I'm skilled with a wide range of database systems, programming environments, programming languages, protocols, and operating systems, many of which I list on the Technologies page.

- Coordinating teams and setting up team best practices
